This is a performance-based program. Our goal with Band 9 is to focus on the development of each student as a well-rounded musician. This will include technique, theory, listening, small ensemble performance and large ensemble performance. As well, we will cover and progress more complex articulations, musical form, advanced intonation/tone/ranges/dynamics, musical phrasing, intricate rhythms, extended technique, varying tempos and time/key signatures. The development of teamwork, individual practice, creativity, and thinking skills are all of great importance, even if guidelines prevent us from playing wind instruments in our classroom setting.
