Pit Band is open to students in Grades 9 -12. Grade 9. students will be complete Musical Theatre 9 and the Grades 10-12 will complete Chamber Ensemble 15 (5-Credits)

Prerequisite:  Recommendation by Teacher and Permission by Principal. These courses are offered outside of the timetable (and in addition to a full timetable).

Students who have a passion for unique instrumental playing can be enrolled in Performing Arts Band (aka Chamber Ensemble 15/25) with the teacher’s recommendation and the permission of the principal.  Auditions are typically held in June for this course.  The musical theatre program aims to provide an interactive environment of integrated study in Drama, Technical Theatre, instrumental Pit Orchestra music, and vocal music for students who seek the challenge of working through the creative process to performance.  This ensemble will act as the “Pit Orchestra” for our productions.  Students who join us will improve their musical abilities and expand their repertoire and musical folder.  The Pit Orchestra will meet as an “X-Block” course (outside of the timetable)
